The first of Prokofiev's 3 entries in the Ultimate Hall of Fame. This has featured in the chart 11 times; its highest position was 187 in the first ever Hall of Fame in 1996.

Following the life story of Lieutenant Kijé, Prokofiev's score accompanies the 1934 Soviet film of the same name. A soldier writes out orders for the Tsar, but accidentally miscopies two words, creating a non-existent Lieutenant in the document. The story follows the fictional birth, romance, wedding and burial of the man, as well as the wonderful Troika, a musical sleigh-ride complete with jingling bells.
