1st of Eric Whitacre's 2 entries.

Eric Whitacre's dreamy piece began its life as a setting of Robert Frost's Stopping by Woods on a Snowy evening. But after Frost's estate banned the use of the text, Whitacre called on poet Charles Anthony Silvestri to re-write the lyrics to the music, and Sleep, with its poignant harmonies and peaceful textures, was born.

Cherub Sleeps by Guido Reni (1627).
